12 Innovative Waterfowl Products for 2016

Whether you're looking for a new gun, health products for your best retriever, or decoys for the season ahead, WILDFOWL's staff has done their homework to bring you some of the hottest waterfowl products for 2016.

Yamaha Viking Side-by-side

Yamaha | Viking

We put Yamaha's Viking side-by-side to the test in Tennessee's Smoky Mountains last year. After taking this beast down 90-degree drop-offs, rocky river beds and mud-sucked trails, there's no doubt it can hold its own in the duck marsh too.

We even rolled the four-wheeler on some insanely steep cliffs, tipped it back on its base and kept on truckin'. The reinforced steel cargo bed can pack up to 600 pounds and the Viking is rated to pull another 1,500 pounds. Its 700cc-class engine is plenty to get you to the blind, plus the three-way On-Command system offers 2WD, 4WD and 4WD with differential lock.

With almost 12 inches of ground clearance, the independent suspension makes for a smooth ride and better traction. Available in double and single cabs, the Viking also comes in Realtree Xtra.

Relatore Max-5 camo patterns

Realtree | Max-5

Realtree seems to revolutionize the camo game every time it comes out with a new pattern. The launch of Max-5 made duck hunters everywhere drool, because it is made for many different environments : flooded timber, open fields, marshes, cattails... the list goes on and on.

Just look at the hunter in the image. Ducks will pick out the decoys before ever laying eyes on the Benelli.

Benelli Super Black Eagle 2

Benelli | Super Black Eagle II

Recommended

The Super Black Eagle II is like the U.S. Postal Service: rain or shine, snow or sleet — it delivers. This inertia-driven auto-loader is second to none, churning through a season's worth (or more) of 3½-inch ammo without a cleaning. The ComforTech recoil system goes easy on your shoulder, and the SBE is available in right- and left-handed models.

Nutramaxlabs

Cosequin | ASU Sport

Your hunt for the right joint health supplement is over! Help support the joint and pad health of your sporting dog with Cosequin ASU Sport. Patented combinations of ingredients help deliver joint support, while biotin helps support pad health and integrity, as well as a healthy coat. Whether it's through the fields or in the woods, use Cosequin ASU Sport to help keep your dog moving.

Dokken Deadfowl Trainer

Dokken's | DeadFowl Trainer

We ask a lot of our retrievers, so it's imperative to give them the right tools from the start. Dokken's DeadFowl is as close as you can get to the real thing. It's actually a better tool for training than a mangled/half-frozen mallard, because the soft middle teaches pup where to pick up the fallen greenhead. And if he tries to shake it, the hard head of the DF delivers a sharp wrap to the snout.

Drake Refuge Jacket

Drake | Guardian Refuge Jacket

The three-layer Guardian Refuge jacket was made for the hard-working hunter. Guys that have a long walk to the blind each morning can wear the liner coat on the stomp through the marsh, then throw on the outer shell once the death march is over. Breathable and durable, the Guardian is available in EST and LST models.

Fabarm USA L4S 12-gauge

Fabarm USA | L4S 12-gauge

Aggressive shooters will love the sporty 12-gauge L4S line from Fabarm. These gas-operated auto-loaders can burn through 3-inch loads no problem, and are ready to kill back-pedalling greenheads right out of the box. Available in Initial, Grey and Deluxe Hunter, the new design allows the forend to be removed without complete disassembly, so you can clean the action without stripping the entire gun down.

Field Proven Calls Adrenaline

Field Proven Calls | Adrenaline

If you live to compete for geese — on the stage and in the field — the Adrenaline by Field Proven will have you hoisting trophies and smashing Canadas in the decoys. Built with semi-worn guts, this short-reed calls to sky-high migrators and will finish spooky late-season birds better than your competition.

First-Light TMAX

First-Light USA | TMAX

If it's tough enough for Abrams tanks, it's plenty tough for the marsh. First Light's TMAX series is trusted by the U.S. Military and now available to the hunting public. Waterproof, these lights come with a lifetime warranty and offer 700 lumens of white light, secondary colors (red, green, blue) and optional magnet or belt mount for hands-free use.

GreenHead Decoys

Greenhead Gear | Pro-Grade 3D Honker

When the farmer says no trucks in the field, it's time to start sweating — unless you have a couple dozen honker silhouettes in the pick-up bed. The Pro-Grade 3D silos come with flocked heads, motion stakes and are a little thicker than those "realistic" fakes you made in the garage last summer.

Available in a mixed harvester pack (six actives, six feeders), these decoys can stand alone or add depth to your full-body spread.

Purina Pro Plan Sport Dog Food

Purina | Pro Plan Sport

Most gun dogs can handle an occasional morning in the field, but if you're a die-hard bird hunter like us, chasing ducks most every day of the season, then your pup needs Pro Plan Sport. It consists of 30 percent protein and 20 percent fat to fuel metabolic needs and maintain lean muscle. The amino acids also nourish muscles, particularly the crucial time after the hunt when dogs need to recoup for the next day.

Sure_shot_game_calls

Sure-Shot Game Calls | The Yentzen One

Sure-Shot's ONE brings function and innovation to the blind. Its screw-lock system does away with O-rings to prevent air loss, making this double-reed sing to long range migrators. And the call has some of the truest hen mallard quacks we've ever heard, which is probably why Sure-Shot can hardly keep them in stock.
