For 2008 Go-Devil ((888) 490-3254) boats will have 54-inch bottoms and 20-inch sides, great for running over open water, and tapered chines for good control at wide-open speeds. All Go-Devil boats, ranging in sizes from 16 to 20 feet, feature split seats, high transoms, trolling motor brackets, headlights and poling platforms. Hulls are constructed of a single sheet of .125-inch thick aluminum. Don't look for splices or seams; there aren't any.

Go-Devil believes the trend toward bigger engines will end anytime soon. The company's bestseller is the 35-horsepower surface drive engine it introduced three years ago.

For 2008 the engine gets a quick-slip lever that mounts on the right side on the trim bracket. It drops the trim about five inches. It's standard on new engines and can be retrofitted to Go-Devil's previous surface drive engines.

And that now is standard policy at Go-Devil. All of the company's new parts can be retrofitted to old parts, so that hunters who buy an engine today can be confident that it later can be outfitted with new and improved parts.
