Sunday Hunting in Pennsylvania Under Consideration

Pennsylvania’s undergoing a heated debate over legislation that seeks to lift the ban from Sunday hunting. According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, “lifting the ban would shift authority to regulate Sunday hunting from the General Assembly, where it currently resides, to the Game Commission.” The regulatory switch sounds pretty logical (We’re pretty sure the Game Commission knows a little more about hunting than the General Assembly), but the issue of going afield on Sunday is still hotly debated. At hand is a lot of time and money—and a lot of thought that a day off from hunting once a week is needed by all. Both sides have interesting perspectives.

What do you think? Are you a Sunday waterfowl hunter?

Enough deer are being slaughtered by the gameless commission without sundays. No reason for us to help them more.

  • Joe

But why arbitrarily limit a person that must work during the week to only have one day to hunt? Or worse in this times, the person who only gets Sunday off.

Some men find god while hunting I would say let people enjoy the weekends. This isn't hobby lobby, and i love to hunt sundays.

  • Justin

For the money we pay for licenses we should be able to hunt whenever we want. One more day for the weekend warriors!

No sundays. Fire the inept game commission responsible for the miserably failed deer plan. Then I will support adding sunday. They cant be trusted with it.

I hunted PA in the past and found there to be alot of preasure. I now live in South Dakota where you can hunt both Sat. and Sun. I think that Sun takes some preasure off the game. As for the deer herd there to many tags should go for a drawing even if you get a buck tag every other year the qaulity of your hunt would be much better.

I agree with Joe, people that work a full time job should be able to have a couple days to relax and enjoy the outdoors. I could care less if we weren't allowed to hunt deer on sundays, but everything else should be fair game.
