Pro-Drive offers two choices of mud motors: A 27 hp Kohler that gets you up to 25 mph, and an impressive 36 hp V-twin big block Vanguard that’ll send you across the wide open water up to 30 mph. Both utilize instant forward and neutral and employ a trouble-free twist throttle. Reverse can be added, as can a hydraulic trim and three different props. Both motors have removable skegs and cavitation plates, and a remote steer setup is available.

If you really want to be impressed with a Pro-Drive, make it two, as in the XX Dual Drive (see accompanying photo). Either sized motor can be doubled for a twin set of power, include the hydraulic power trim. Go with the dual steer remotely and the steering is hydraulic, and if tiller steer is your choice, you’ll get dual quick lift capabilities. Add one of the wide-backed shallow-draft “X” or “X-2” boats from Pro Drive to its motors for top performance.
