Marlin has owned the L. C. Smith brand since 1945. The Italian-made 12- and 20-gauge over/unders and Spanish side-by-sides carrying the L. C. Smith name are chambered for 3-inch loads and fitted with three interchangeable screw-in choke tubes in improved cylinder, modified and full, making them versatile shotguns for the blind, uplands and clay fields.

Most models have single selective triggers, and the side-by-sides are available in 12, 20, 28 gauges and .410 bore.
