WILDFOWL’s Favorite Duck Dynasty Moments

by Wildfowl Online Staff   |  July 24th, 2013 0

They’re America’s first family of duck hunting. They’re outrageously bearded, hilariously witty and unashamedly redneck.

They’ve also captured the attention of a national audience on A&E’s hit TV show Duck Dynasty. They are the Robertsons, duck call innovators turned reality TV stars from the backwoods of Louisiana, and they’re making their way to a television near you. Heck, Uncle Si may even take home the prize for sexiest meat eater of 2013, an honor bestowed by our friends over at Petersen’s Hunting. Hard to believe the old man actually has a shot to win, especially when pretty faces like Tiffany Lakosky and Jennifer Lawrence are in the running.

Headed by Willie, who runs their duck call business, Duck Commander, the Robertsons got their start in the industry when family patriarch Phil started making calls back in the ’70s. Phil decided to let future Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw have the spotlight, trading in his cleats for a shotgun and some face paint. Bradshaw maintains Phil was actually a better quarterback at the time, but we’d say things turned out pretty well for both of them.

The other stars of the show are Willie’s brother, Jase, and Uncle Si, who often steals the show with his non-stop antics. Whether he’s telling a bunch of kindergartners stories about the brutalities of ‘Nam, or philosophizing about work, naps and his trusty blue tea cup, Uncle Si is probably the best part of the show. As Jase said, Uncle Si is genuinely crazy, which is what makes him so entertaining.

As a salute to the bearded duckmen, we proudly present our favorite Duck Dynasty moments.
