5,000 Rally for Wetlands, Waterfowl, and Clean Water




Minnesota Rally.
About 5,000 sportsmen and their families rallied for wetlands, waterfowl, and clean water at Minnesota's state capitol in St. Paul on April 2, 2005. Rally goers were concerned about continuing net loss of wetlands, ag uses, and low duck numbers in the state.

"Ducks not carp" was one of the messages delivered to legislators. A host of Minnesota duck sloughs have been turned into commercial minnow growing ponds, rendering them useless to waterfowl.
