19 Waterfowl Decoys You Should Know About

19 Waterfowl Decoys You Should Know About

Waterfowlers, be they duck hunters or goose fanatics, are engaged in an ongoing and torrid love affair with waterfowl decoys.

Aero Outdoors Full Curl Mallard Decoys

Paul Sullivan has forgotten more about hunting ultra-wary late-season mallards than most folks will ever know. But the decoy builder and recognized wetland habitat manager is more than happy to share a portion of the secret to success in his Full Curl Mallard Decoys from Aero Outdoors. Made of durable plastic but with the look of cork, Full Curls sport flocked heads and tails for added attraction. A removable keel design allows the blocks to be used on dry ground, as well as on the water.

Greenhead Gear Scoter Series

Greenhead Gear has expanded its decoy line by offering the most realistic sea duck decoys on the market. Anatomical perfection, custom paint schemes and the most lifelike ride even in the roughest chop describe the new scoter series. Gunners have a choice of black, white-wing or surf scoter decoys. Each species features custom swivel heads in active and resting poses in both drakes and hens. The innovative 60/40 Dura-Keel design helps lock the decoys onto the water's surface to duplicate realistic movement.

LSP Webfoot/Real-Geese Pro-Series II Extreme Definition

Gunners have been tagging Canada geese over Real-Geese silhouettes for decades. Now, duck hunters can join in with the introduction of Pro-Series II Extreme Definition pintail and black duck silhouettes. Painstakingly crafted using advanced digital imagery techniques and true-to-life colors, these 12-packs feature color-correct stakes and 12 different and distinct body positions. These flats are the perfect accompaniment to any lightweight field spread.

MOJO Outdoors Flyway Feeder

To further expand its already extensive line of popular waterfowl hunting products, MOJO Outdoors announces the Flyway Feeder. This revolutionary butt-up feeder-style decoy features a tried-and-true 6-volt rechargeable power source — charger included — hooked to a rugged self-cycling and self-contained water pump system. A flip of the on/off switch energizes the pump, which creates lifelike ripples throughout the spread. The Flyway Feeder comes rigged and ready to go. Hunters only need to add a decoy anchor.

Phantom Goose Hats

Is it a decoy? Or is it a hat? Is it both? Now, waterfowlers have everything they could ever need in terms of combination apparel and field decoys. Phantom Goose Hats are designed to put hunters smack-dab in the middle of their spread — literally. These realistically imprinted fleece hats come as either Canada geese or snow geese, and can be worn in conjunction with most common styles of stocking caps and/or facemasks. Multi-directional, the Goose Hats add incredibly lifelike motion to any field spread, while leaving the hunter's hands free to use calls and, hopefully, a shotgun.

Quack Decoy

Two words best describe the Quack Decoy lineup: indestructible and varied. Fashioned of high-tech synthetic rubber, Quack decoys are porous for the ultimate in paint adhesion, as well as for self-sealing — a nice feature when a knot of bluebills screams in just above the spread. Icy buildup? No problem for Quack. Simply rap that rubber mallard on the side of the boat and it is ready again for the water. Quack's 20 species of ducks and seven geese include such hard-to-find birds as harlequins, white-wing scoters and Barrow's goldeneyes.

Real Duck

Today's wary waterfowl may be able to resist a traditional spinning-wing decoy, but they can't resist the unique strobe light effect produced by the Real Duck's one-piece rotating black-and-white flash bar. Available in mallard, bluebill and pintail formats, the Real Duck's fully enclosed mechanical system and rugged durability allow for tough use, season after season. Goose hunters aren't left out — a full-body conversion kit for Canada geese is offered.

Tanglefree

Dealing with broken heads, missing heads or trying to assemble two-piece full-body Canada decoys in the dark is no way to start the morning's hunt. Tanglefree has a solution with the company's innovative one-piece full-body goose decoys. Available in feeder and upright/sentry postures, these rugged Richardson's-sized decoys feature fully flocked heads and tails, intricately carved and realistic feather detail, and a simple yet effective staking and motion system.

Waterfowler Innovations Super Feeder

Tired of yanking on that old jerk cord string every time a flock enters your airspace? Add a Super Feeder to your spread. Manufactured in the United States, the Waterfowler Innovations Super Feeder uses a 12-volt battery to momentarily and fully submerge a full-sized duck floater, with the action looking every bit like a live greenhead disappearing under the surface, only to reappear a second later. Lifeless spreads are a thing of the past. The kit includes the battery, charger and a two-piece metal mount adjustable to 5 feet.

Wonderduck Decoys Tornado Motion Decoy

Tired of watching dead, motionless decoys sit atop a flat-calm marsh? Lifeless decoys and frozen spreads are a thing of the past, thanks to the Wonderduck Tornado motion decoy. Featuring simultaneous on-the-water and decoy movement, the Tornado's high-speed 550 RPM motor pulls ducks out of the clouds with frightening consistency — and all with a lifetime repair guarantee, even if you shoot it.

Zink Calls Avian-X Full-Body Honker Decoys

Created by nationally recognized goose hunter Fred Zink and world champion carver Rick Johannsen, Avian-X Full-Body Honker Decoys are the result of more than a decade of research and refinement. These cutting-edge decoys feature new body postures including adult males and females, subdominants and juveniles. Molded from a unique blend of advanced plastics, the decoys maintain a soft, flexible nature, even under the coldest conditions. A no-seam head design and the Direct Connect head-attachment system eliminate cracking and in-field disconnect problems. The full-bodies rest atop a large, stable, detachable 11.5-inch metal foot/base that allows maximum natural movement in the slightest wind.

Bass Pro Shops RedHead Floating Duck Decoys

Cast and manufactured using taxidermy works as reference, RedHead Floating Duck Decoys are currently offered as mallards, green-winged teal, blue-winged teal, wood ducks, wigeon, gadwalls, black ducks, pintails, ring-necked ducks and oldsquaws. Post-paint flame treating ensures excellent adhesion, while the saw tooth keel design helps impart excellent movement in even the slightest current or breeze.

Big Foot Decoy's The Bull

Sporting measurements of 27 inches long, 31 inches high and 12 inches wide, The Bull from Big Foot Decoys incorporates every feature that has made Big Foot the decoy of choice by hardcore hunters and outfitters. Designed to mimic every flock's bull gander, this towering, flocked-head full-body comes as a four-pack, featuring two sentry and two relaxed body postures.

Carry-Lite DC Series

Phil Robertson, aka The Duck Commander, designed the signature Carry-Lite DC Series, which currently includes mallards, green-winged teal, blue-winged teal and gadwalls. This season, the spotlight shines on gadwalls, the third most commonly harvested species in the Mississippi Flyway. Brilliant colors, incredible detailing and natural postures are features of the DC Series gadwall decoys.

Dakota Decoy's XFD Full-Body Lesser Canada Geese

Billed as the toughest and longest-lasting flocked decoy on the market, the XFD Full-Body Lesser Canada Geese provide the unparalleled results hunters have come to expect from Dakota. Each six-pack includes three different body postures — feeders, actives and sentries — to help create the most realistic spread afield. The Wind Walker Motion System adds realistic motion, making it tough to tell the difference between Dakota and the live geese.

Deadly Decoys

For several seasons, flyer-style decoys with outstretched wings were thought to be exclusive to spring snow goose hunters. That's no longer true, as the innovators at Deadly Decoys introduce several ultra-realistic species of flyers. Featuring the company's BackBone Support System, which effectively eliminates the problem of flat windsocks on windless days, these flyers are offered as Canada geese, mallards and pintails, as well as snow geese in blue phase and white phase. Each decoy includes a full-body feeder head, 24-inch stake and two wing spares.

FA Brand Fully Flocked Lesser Decoys

FA Brand Fully Flocked Lessers From the talented chisels of world-renowned wildlife sculptor Doug Eck comes the next generation of Canada goose decoys: Fully Flocked Lessers. Recognized as one of the more challenging Canada subspecies to decoy, lessers require large, realistic spreads of true-to-life blocks, which FA's full-bodies allow hunters to create. With custom paint schemes, incredible motion, lifelike detailing, and a rugged and fully guaranteed Dura-Connect head attachment system, they are a go-to tool for hunters targeting the often-frustrating small geese.

Flambeau Outdoors Storm Front Canada Honkers

Flambeau Outdoors Storm Front Canada Honkers Flambeau Outdoors latest addition, Storm Front Canada Honkers, introduces some of the most radical body postures and positions ever offered in a production decoy. Carved by world champion Rich Smoker, these new honkers feature four body postures and 12 head positions, along with a lockable motion base, realistic UVision Paint schemes, and flocked heads and necks. A full 24 inches in length, Storm Front Honkers are life-sized, yet remain portable — perfect for run-and-gun goose fanatics.

G&H Decoys Weathervane Shell Decoys

There's no need to reset your decoy spread with every change of the wind. Weathervane Shell Decoys automatically turn to face the wind. They have the appearance of full-body decoys, yet are stackable for transport. Available in Canada geese, snow geese and mallards, each decoy features raised feather detail and hand-painted, life-like colors. Goose models include five different head positions. Like G&H standard shells, the decoys come with detachable heads and acrylic eyes. They are made in America of durable, high-impact plastic with absolute paint adhesion. Supplied stakes allow realistic movement with light gusts of wind.
