Garmin Astro

Garmin Astro

The Garmin Astro is a global positioning transmitter on a dog collar that sends the canine's location to a screen on a receiver in the hand of the dog's owner. The collar-mounted transmitter sends a message that tells where the dog is at present and has been in the past few minutes.

The result is a trail clearly marked on a map displayed on the receiver. For 2009, the collar transmitter has been made smaller and more durable to resist the wear and tear created by a retriever crashing through flooded timber, running across corn stubble or swimming through a cattail marsh.
