Waterfowling Shotguns

Here are four new offerings that will get the job done this fall

Advanced Over/Under
Browning's Cynergy over/under shotgun is new for 2004. It features a new Monolock Hinge, fast Reverse Striker trigger and a new Inflex Recoil Pad design. It's also available in composite stock for the blind. Other features of the Cynergy include back-bored lightweight barrels, triple trigger system, Invector-Plus Choke System and an average weight of seven pounds, eight ounces. The Cynergy is available in 12 gauge only--2 2/4-inch and 3-inch. Contact Browning Dept WF, One Browning Place, Morgan, UT 84050; (801) 876-2711; www.browning.com.

Ultimate 12-gauge Camo Gun
Mossberg introduces the 835 Ulti-Mag 12-gauge shotgun with 3 1/2-inch chamber. The overbored barrels of the 835 provide a 10-gauge performance when used with 12-gauge 3 1/2-inch shells. This forms a gradual choke effect that reduces recoil and produces uniform patterns. The versatility of this gun is shown in its ability to use light, 2 3/4-inch loads to super-capacity 3 1/2-inch magnums. Eight ports have been placed on each side of the barrel to minimize muzzle jump. Contact: O.F. Mossberg Dept. WF, 7 Grasso Ave. North Haven, CT 06473; (203) 230-5300; www.mossberg.com.

Shotgun Innovations
The Super Black Eagle II from Benelli sets a new limit for 3 1/2-inch 12-gauge performance. The new ComforTech system stock reduces recoil up to 43 percent, and reduces muzzle jump by 15 percent. Benelli added the new Crio system, which allows the shooter to place 13.2 percent more pellets on target. The trigger guard offers 31 percent more room. There's a new stainless steel recoil tube assembly for the ultimate in corrosion resistance. Contact: Benelli USA Dept. WF, 17603 Indian Head Hwy. Accokeek, MD 20607; (301) 283-6981; www.benelliusa.com.

Versatile Load Semi-Auto
European American Armory Corp. has developed a semi-auto that can take 12-gauge 31⁄2-inch shells, 12-gauge 3-inch shells and 12-gauge 23⁄4-inch shells. The MP153 has a patent pending self regulating gas system for fine tuning and feeding and a hot-hammer forged chrome-lined barrel. Contact: European American Armory Corp. Dept. WF, P.O. Box 1299, Sharpes, FL 32959; (321) 639-4842; www.eaacorp.com.
