Federal's Premium Black Cloud Steel (shown here) line added then new 3- and 3 1/2-inch, 12-gauge loads utilizing #3 shot. At 1,500 and 1450-fps, they get the job done on the toughest of fowl. The 3 1/2-inch shells are loaded with #2, BB and BBB, with 4.84 drams equivalent of powder. The 3-inch shells come in #2, 3, BB and BBB with 4.23 drams equivalent.
Federal partnered with Patternmaster Chokes for better patterns with their Black Cloud line, and feel their project is successful. On a side note: Federal is now offering Upland Steel. Premium Wing Shok Pheasants Forever Upland Steel is available in 12- and 20-gauge loads at 1,400 and 1,350-fps, respectively. The new 20-gauge payload is one-ounce of #3 and #5.
